The printer had originally returned the design marking areas where the gold foil would infill or pool, one of the troubles with some foil processes and intricate designs. Updates were done to the artwork and it was resent.
After the revision’s approval and the cards arrived there was still a lot of pooling and infill of the process gold foil. The CJK within the logo disc had pooled and spread on quite a few of the cards – not completely, but enough to make it look like it was wrong. Other places where gold foil had been used the lettering had spread and connected. To most people above the age of twelve, filling in the ‘e’ and ‘o’ on every page, even on an area as small as a business card, looks unprofessional.
The printer was contacted and supplied photographic evidence. They were sorry to see the cards had issues and were happy to reprint the cards. They also offered some more advice.
